Why an inhaler rather than the bottle
The reason is not intensity, it is very concrete: direct contact between the liquid and the skin causes chemical burns. This is documented by a published clinical case, and the French drug information service confirms it. A bottle you bring up to your nose is a bottle you eventually knock over.
The inhaler solves that mechanically. The wick is soaked inside, the aluminium body is closed, and the vapour comes out through the openings. The liquid touches neither fingers nor face, and it does not spill if the object falls.
The aluminium washes and lasts indefinitely. Only the wick is a consumable, replaced when it has lost its smell.
What an inhaler does not change: it removes skin contact, nothing more. The precautions stay the same, starting with not repeating inhalations in quick succession, stopping and getting fresh air at the first headache or dizziness, and never using it near a flame.
